Summertime Fun and Fitness: Upcoming Adaptive Surf Events with Life Rolls On

Have you been wanting to try your hand at something new this summer? Maybe it’s time to learn how to ‘flip kick’ or ‘hang ten’? Thanks to world champion quadriplegic surfer, Jesse Billauer, hundreds of thousands of lives affected by spinal cord injuries are gaining inspiration from the thrills of adaptive skating and surfing.

Billauer’s foundation, Life Rolls On, was founded on September 11th, 2001, and has grown exponentially since then. They offer a variety of skate and surf events all around the US and Canada, and we urge you to try one out today!

No experience, no equipment, no problem. Some Life Rolls On fanatics do not know how to swim. The volunteer staff will teach you how to float and hold your breath underwater. This makes it possible for just about anyone to participate, even those with no or limited use of their arms and hands. Pre-register, show up and they will troubleshoot your concerns.

Life Rolls On mentions that if you own a full length wetsuit, neoprene life vest, and surfboard you should bring them along. However, if you don’t own these items, they will supply them for you. Beach or all terrain wheelchairs are often available at events for easy transport to water’s edge.

These communities events have become so popular that Life Rolls On urges everyone to pre-register to participate in the events. Considering the popularity of the events, Life Rolls On predicts registration may fill up weeks before the event so do not hesitate and sign up today.
